For my son’s 5th birthday, one set of his grandparents treated us all to a trip to Sea Life Aquarium in Grapevine. It’s actually located IN Grapevine Mills Mall along with Lego Land Discovery Center.
We really enjoyed the aquarium. It’s much smaller than the Dallas World Aquarium, but for small children, the size is perfect. I felt like we got much closer to the fish and there were rooms dividing the aquarium up which made it easier to stay focused and to point out interesting things to my children. If you want to see more than just fish, you’d best stick to Dallas World Aquarium.
There are quite a few good deals concerning admission. Buy your tickets online before you go, save 25%. Go after 5pm or get a joint ticket with the Lego Discovery Center and you’ll also save some money. They only let in so many people per 30 min time slot so on busy days, it may be safer to buy the ticket online knowing you’re able to get in when you want to.
We spent about an hour and a half wandering through the aquarium and playing in the play area at the end. The gift shop at the end is very kid friendly with reasonable prices on souvenirs.
