I ran across this article on financial planning for parents to be. What struck me the funniest from this article is how they call cloth diapering old fashioned. I suppose it could see old fashioned, but the cloth diapers that are out these days are anything but.
The rest of the article does have some good advice, but I honestly stopped paying attention much after laughing. Hate when that happens! As a “modern” cloth diapering mom I was disappointed by the author’s ignorance.
What can we get out of this article though? If you’re able to, save money for expenses that children will bring. Don’t spend all of your paychecks once you have kids either because emergencies do happen. Children really aren’t too expensive in the beginning at least. If you’re tight on cash, find friends willing to lend you clothing and other baby gear. And some good, old fashioned cloth diapering will help you save some cash as well, especially if you’re planning on having more than one.
